Minister for Tourism & Civil Aviation, Hon. Gavoka Launches 2024 Spartan APAC Championship

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation officially launched the 2024 Spartan APAC Championship during a vibrant ceremony at the Hilton Resort in Denarau. The event, which included the registration of competitors and participants, marks the beginning of an extraordinary journey culminating today, November 16, 2024, at the scenic Aviva Racecourse in Sabeto, Nadi.

📅 Event Highlights:
🏃‍♂️ Fiji Kids Race 2024: A fun 1–3K obstacle race for young Spartans.
🌌 Fiji Trail 2024: A thrilling 10K night run.
👥 Fiji Hurricane Heat 2024: A 4-hour team-based endurance challenge.
🏔️ Ultra Race: Starting at 6 AM, this grueling race tests ultimate stamina.

The championship course showcases Fiji’s natural beauty, from the Sabeto Mountain Track and traditional villages to lush rainforests and rugged trails. This challenging yet scenic route embodies the Spartan spirit of resilience, strength, and determination, with races like the Spartan Beast featuring 30–35 obstacles over 12–14 miles.

This world-class event is made possible through the three-year commitment of the Fiji Government, alongside the invaluable support of major sponsors and contributors like Fiji Airways and Tourism Fiji. Together, they’re helping position Fiji as a global leader in wellness tourism, driving economic growth while showcasing our unique culture and landscapes.
