Showcasing Fiji’s Natural Wonders

Fiji’s rainforests, coral reefs, and welcoming communities offer an unmatched adventure experience. Hon. Gavoka noted that “Fiji is a treasure trove of natural wonders waiting to be explored, and AdventureNEXT provides a platform to share our landscapes and vibrant culture with the world.”

Thanks to initiatives like the Tour Operator Marketplace and Familiarization Trips, local businesses are showcasing guided hikes, cultural immersions, and other authentic experiences to international buyers and media.

Collaboration and Sustainability as Key Drivers

The Minister applauded the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) for promoting emerging destinations and thanked Tourism Fiji for hosting the event. “Your efforts in showcasing Fiji as a destination brimming with potential create tremendous opportunities for local operators and adventurers alike,” he said.

The Ministry also reaffirmed its commitment to the National Sustainable Tourism Framework (NSTF), ensuring tourism development aligns with environmental preservation and community well-being. Hon. Gavoka emphasized investments in green transport and climate-resilient infrastructure to secure long-term benefits for the nation.

Adventure Tourism: A Growth Sector

Adventure tourism offers immense potential for Fiji’s economy, which already relies on tourism for 40% of its GDP and over 120,000 jobs. “The world is seeking connection, discovery, and adventure. Fiji’s diverse offerings provide the perfect setting for these experiences,” said Hon. Gavoka.

He encouraged stakeholders to seize the networking opportunities offered by AdventureNEXT, adding, “Together, we can elevate Fiji as a leader in adventure tourism and create a thriving, sustainable future.”
