Fiji Tourism Exchange 2025 Advances National Tourism Framework, Delivering on Fiji’s Development Priorities
The Fijian Government, through the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation, is proud to reflect on the resounding success of the 2025 Fiji Tourism Exchange (FTE), held from 11th to 13th May at the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort. This pivotal event has once again demonstrated Fiji’s leadership in sustainable tourism, directly contributing to the strategic objectives outlined in the Fiji National Sustainable Tourism Framework and the broader National Development Plan.
Under the visionary guidance of the Hon Viliame Gavoka, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, FTE 2025 served as a dynamic platform to reinforce tourism’s role as a cornerstone of Fiji’s economy. By facilitating high-level engagements between 150 international buyers and 200 Fijian tourism operators, the event has laid a strong foundation to achieve our national target of 1.2 million visitors—a key milestone in driving inclusive economic growth, rural development, and employment opportunities across the islands.
The Ministry acknowledges with deep appreciation the exceptional efforts of Tourism Fiji in delivering both FTE and Tourism Super Week. These initiatives exemplify the successful implementation of government policy, particularly through the groundbreaking Consumer Media Program, which elevates Fiji’s unique cultural and natural assets on the global stage, and the Loloma Hour initiative, which embodies our commitment to community-centric tourism.
FTE 2025 stands as a testament to the Fijian Government’s unwavering focus on sustainable and responsible tourism development. The outcomes achieved align seamlessly with our national priorities—expanding air connectivity, fostering MSME participation, and ensuring tourism benefits are equitably distributed to strengthen grassroots resilience.
As we move forward, the Ministry remains steadfast in its mission to cultivate a tourism sector that not only bolsters economic prosperity but also safeguards our environmental and cultural heritage for future generations. The success of FTE 2025 reaffirms that Fiji’s approach—rooted in sustainability, innovation, and shared value—is paving the way for a brighter, more resilient future.
The Fijian Government invites all stakeholders to continue this journey with us as we work collectively to realize the full potential of tourism as a force for national development.
