
Chilean Ambassador Pays Courtesy Visit to Acting Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Hon. Jese Saukuru, Minister for Youth and Sports.
Suva, Fiji 16 April 2025 – The non-resident Ambassador of Chile to Fiji, Her Excellency Ms. Manahi Pakarati, paid a courtesy visit to the Hon. Jese Saukuru, Minister for Youth and Sports and Acting Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, today at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Suva.
This follows Her Excellency’s recent presentation of credentials to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Fiji, formalizing her diplomatic role in strengthening bilateral relations between Chile and Fiji.
Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing tourism cooperation, including opportunities for sustainable tourism development and cultural exchanges between the two nations. The Hon. Saukuru reiterated Fiji’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Chile in areas of mutual interest.
The Hon Minister was accompanied by Ministry officials, who provided insights on Fiji’s tourism and aviation sectors.
As a gesture of goodwill, a traditional Fijian gift was presented to Ambassador Pakarati, symbolizing the enduring friendship between Fiji and Chile.
The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation looks forward to further collaboration with Chile in advancing shared priorities in tourism, aviation and bilateral relations.
