National Sustainable Tourism Framework Steering Committee
The National Sustainable Tourism Framework Steering Committee is a Ministry-led Committee that includes representation of the Tourism Fiji, Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, Fiji Airways, Society of Fiji Travel Associates,, Duavata Sustainable Tourism Collective, Savusavu Tourism Association, Taveuni Tourism Association, Kadavu Tourism Association,, Tourism Suncoast, International Finance Corporation, Global Green Growth Institute, Pacific Private Sector, Development Initiative and United Nations Resident Coordinator’s Office.
The Steering Committee’s primary aim is to provide guidance and oversight on the development of the Framework.
Fiji Tourism Development Program in Vanua Levu Project Steering Committee
The Project Steering Committee is established as a high-level advisory group responsible for providing overall strategic direction and policy guidance on Project implementation in coordination among ministries/agencies, private sector and other relevant stakeholders.
The PSC includes the membership of the implementing agency, borrowing agency, Central Project Management Unit, Project Implementing Agencies, and government and statutory agency technical partners.
Tourism Recovery Team
In recognizing the impact of COVID-19 on travel and tourism, key industry leaders have officially come together to form the ‘Tourism Recovery Team’ (TRT).
Chaired by the Permanent Secretary for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, the TRT is representative of key industry stakeholders such us Tourism Fiji, Fiji Hotel and Tourism Association, Fiji Airways, Reserve Bank of Fiji, Society of Fiji Travel Associates, and the Ministry of Health and Medical Services, to name a few.
The TRT was formed by overwhelming industry demand to have a consultative body that is able to channel the concerns and challenges faced by the industry and find pragmatic solutions.
