
Fiji Strengthens Tourism and Aviation Priorities in 2026–2027 Budget
SUVA, 13 July 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Viliame R. Gavoka, has outlined a focused programme of investment to strengthen Fiji’s tourism industry, aviation connectivity and community participation.
Presenting his Budget Response in Parliament, Hon. Gavoka said the Ministry’s $75.8 million allocation would support key priorities, including Tourism Fiji, the Na Vualiku Tourism Development Programme, tourism MSMEs, domestic air services, aviation safety and implementation of the Civil Aviation Master Plan.
Tourism Fiji will receive $41.77 million, including $33 million for destination marketing, while $20 million has been allocated to Na Vualiku to advance tourism development in Vanua Levu and Taveuni.
Support for the Pilot Tourism MSME Fund has increased by 25 percent to $500,000, creating further opportunities for small operators, family businesses, artisans, homestays and community-based tourism enterprises.
The Domestic Air Services Subsidy has also increased to $2.31 million, supporting vital connections to maritime communities, while $180,000 will advance implementation of Fiji’s Civil Aviation Master Plan.
The Budget also introduces new incentives for iTaukei eco and cultural tourism investments and supports the implementation of the Tourism Act 2026.
Hon. Gavoka said the Government remained committed to growing opportunities, improving connectivity and ensuring that Fiji continues to be a resilient, competitive and trusted tourism and aviation destination.
