Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM3) Commences Tomorrow in Fiji

18 February 2025 Suva, Fiji – The Fiji Government is honoured to host the 3rd Regional Aviation Ministers Meeting (RAMM3), a landmark event bringing together Aviation Ministers and delegates from across the region for their first in-person meeting, following two successful virtual sessions.

The meeting will officially begin on the 20th of March with a Fijian Traditional Welcoming Ceremony, where the Chief Guest, Mr. Tao Ma, Regional Director of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) Asia-Pacific Office, will be accorded the traditional Fijian welcome. Mr. Ma’s participation underscores the importance of this gathering in advancing regional aviation priorities. As part of RAMM3, bilateral meetings have been arranged to facilitate deeper collaboration among participating countries. Today, the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon Viliame Gavoka had the privilege of welcoming the Hon. Regan Aliklik, Minister for Aviation of the Republic of Nauru, as well as the Hon. Frederick Kologeta, Minister for Aviation and Communications of the Solomon Islands, along with their respective delegations. These engagements highlight the commitment to strengthening partnerships and addressing shared challenges in the aviation sector.

The RAMM3 serves as a pivotal platform for discussing critical regional aviation matters, including:

  • Enhancing regional air connectivity and infrastructure
  • Advancing aviation safety and security standards
  • Promoting sustainable aviation practices
  • Strengthening regional cooperation and policy alignment
