World Surf League
The World Surf League (WSL) Championship Tour is scheduled to return to Fiji in 2024 with the world’s elite doing battle in the perfect leagues of Cloudbreak in August. The 2024 Fiji Pro will see the top 24 men and 12 women return to one of the world’s most perfect and iconic waves, Cloudbreak, for the first time since 2017. Fiji is regarded as one of the most perfect and exciting waves and has been home to some of the most memorable moments at the Championship Tour level. The return of the Fiji Pro is thanks to a three-year partnership between the WSL and the Fiji Government. It will see competitors and surfing fans worldwide extremely excited to see one of their favorite sports back on Tour.
Spartan Fiji
The Fiji government endorsed the hosting of the Spartan trifecta event in Fiji for a three year partnership whereby the first event was held in November 2023.
The world’s number one obstacle race series, designed to get regular people motivated, active and training for a life changing challenge. With 3 adult course distances in 2020, 5km, 10 km to 21km, plus the endurance challenge of the 50km Ultra, Spartan allows racers to choose the event that’s right for them, whatever their fitness level. Spartan events incorporate a specially designed Kids Race, where primary school aged children and their families are encouraged to get off the couch, turn off the computers and get active.
With an estimated 2,000 Spartan participants competing over a 4 to 6 days, it is envisioned that significant economic and social value will be created across multiple industries, predominantly the Fiji Tourism Industry.
The Event is not only expected to boost visitor arrivals and revenue during a traditionally slow visitor arrival season for Fiji, but also ensure benefits are spread across the country with the event including a number of locations such as Sabeto mountains, Nausori highlands and the Coral Coast.
