TOURISM SUPER WEEK 2025: EMPOWERING FIJI’S MSMES TO DRIVE INNOVATION AND
GROWTH IN THE TOURISM SECTOR
FIJI, 28 FEBRUARY 2025: Tourism Fiji, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation
(MTCA), is proud to announce Tourism Super Week, a dedicated capacity-building program aimed at
supporting and empowering tourism industry stakeholders, with a particular focus on Micro, Small,
and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The event, scheduled for 5 – 9 May 2025, will provide a weeklong series of expert-led workshops, panel discussions, networking opportunities, and hands-on
training sessions, all designed to enhance business skills, improve trade readiness, and foster
innovation within the tourism sector.
The program is intended to serve as a platform for local businesses to gain valuable insights, connect
with key stakeholders, and explore new growth opportunities in Fiji’s dynamic tourism landscape.
“In many ways, we are all ambassadors of Fiji — and tourism by extension. We want to bring
together our industry to share and learn more about the art of tour guiding in its many forms. And
partnerships and platforms such as Fiji’s Tourism Super Week are invaluable,” said Salaseini
Daunabuna, Permanent Secretary for Tourism and Civil Aviation.
The event will offer MSMEs the resources they need to grow and thrive, from learning about the
latest trends in tourism to developing practical skills that can be immediately applied. A key highlight
of this partnership between Tourism Fiji and the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation (MTCA) is the
two-day Tour Guide Training, which will be a key component of Tourism Super Week 2025. This
training aims to enhance the skills of local tour guides, empowering them to provide exceptional
experiences for visitors and ensuring businesses stay competitive in the global marketplace.
“Tourism Fiji is excited to host Tourism Super Week as it provides a unique opportunity for MSMEs
to gain crucial knowledge and practical skills to enhance their businesses. The event’s expert-led
workshops and networking sessions are invaluable tools that will help tourism businesses stay ahead
of global trends, grow sustainably, and innovate to meet the changing needs of travelers. Tourism
Super Week will help unlock new growth opportunities and ensure that our industry continues to
thrive. We are also proud to partner with the Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation to make this
event possible – the support further emphasizes the commitment to developing our industry
especially the MSMEs,” said Brent Hill, CEO of Tourism Fiji.
Tourism Super Week represents a key opportunity for MSMEs to collaborate, learn, and take their
businesses to the next level. Tourism Fiji invites all tourism stakeholders to register and be part of
this exciting initiative.
